  • Heavy Lightning is a story about a friendship that slowly becomes unhealthy over time through lack of healthy communication. Throughout the story, we observe a declining friendship through the lens of Skip, the protagonist. Skip is a cheerful Cloudbow with strong emotions and a need for appreciation. Unfortunately, thanks to antagonist Lina, Skip becomes less favored by the rest of his friend group until he is eventually removed.

    Heavy Lightning portrays a realistic toxic friendship that many people may experience while growing up. It is important for us to remember that regardless of how others may treat us, we still have value. We deserve good things. 

    As of now, Heavy Lightning is currently a work-in-progress. However, the project is planned to be completed shortly.

✦ CHARACTERS ✦

  • The members of the Cloudbow species all have cloudy heads and stretchy, ribbon-like limbs. Often, Cloudbows will stretch, puff up, and change colors depending on their current emotions and actions. The characters are part of an upcoming project of mine, which is currently in the works. 

    The first Cloudbow I designed was Skip. I wanted to develop a cloud character with a flexible design and malleable proportions, but struggled to find the right look. Eventually, after many iterations, I sketched a suitable design that captured my goals with the character. 

    Skip's design acted as the basis for the rest of the characters, so their design process went smoother overall. The characters are connected through key attributes, but have notable differences that distinguish them from one another.
